Analyse av landoperasjoner og -strukturer : sluttrapport

This report concludes the FFI project 789 “Analyse av landoperasjoner og –strukturer” (LAOS). It gives the background and motivation for the project, and lists its most significant contributions. During its first phase, the project was run according to its original plans, improving a land combat simulation model (Dynacom), and conducting various studies with relevance for the Army. In the second phase, the project was included in the “Program forsvarsanalyse 2003” (PFA-03). PFA-03 was a matrix organization consisting of the FFI-projects LAOS, LUOS, ANSJOS, STRØM (previously FFA-04), and LOGIKK. In this phase, the resources of LAOS were distributed between the different activities run by PFA-03, so that no LAOS-specific contributions can be identified. The main activities to which scientists from LAOS contributed were organizing war games, analysis of denial operations in Finnmark, analysis of Norwegian forces’ abilities in international operations, assembly of building blocks for force structuring, and support to the development and analysis of complete force structures.
