Abstract
A technical concept study of digital multistatic radar has been executed in project 726. The concept is based on the use of a number of low cost lightweight transmitters and an advanced high-priced passive receiver unit. In an ARM attack the separation of transmitter and receiver ensures the safety of the radar operators that are located at the receiver. The efficiency of jamming is reduced as the receiver is not co-located with the transmitter. At the same time, using several transmitters increases the probability of detection of a target as different illumination angles result in scattering towards the receiver of different amount of energy.
