Abstract
This report analyses procurement and acquisitions in the Norwegian Armed Forces - Norwegian defence industry's role 1995-2002. The methodology used is firstly, to present the "Industry Perspective"; an up-dated holistic view of the size and volume of the Norwegian defence industry, and breaking this down into industry categories, etc. Secondly, the "Defence Perspective"; to present a holistic view of the size and volume of the Norwegian Armed Forces budget and spending on procurement and acquisition of new weapons systems and platforms, and thereafter breaking this down to each respective service (Army, Navy & Air Force), etc. Thirdly, the "Supplier Perspective"; presenting certain representative Norwegian companies/suppliers in the defence industry and their respective share of the above mentioned military spending. In addition, the report presents a number of recommendations, both to the Norwegian Ministry of Defence (MoD) and to the Norwegian defence industry regarding future long-term committed strategic co-operation.
